The Eastern Hancock Education Foundation supports Eastern Hancock schools and teachers primarily by providing grants for teachers and rewarding educators through appreciation efforts and programming. Additional activities, such as a teacher appreciation breakfast, are also sponsored by the foundation throughout the year.
Bi-Annual Grants for Educators
The Eastern Hancock Education Foundation awards grants to educators for programs or resources needed for their students or classrooms. Since its inception, the foundation has funded more than $30,000 at the elementary, middle and high school levels. The grants range from programs to help with the successful transition of Kindergarten students, to improving classroom engagement and school culture, and even includes introducing new course offerings such as robotics.
David Pfaff Excellence in Education Award
The Eastern Hancock Education Foundation recognizes one teacher each year for exceptional innovation, commitment, leadership and devotion to academic excellence. Nominations are submitted by peers, students, parents and community stakeholders who deem that the educator's contributions exceed expectations.
