Shantelle Ebbert

Name: Shantelle Ebbert

School/Building you work: Middle School

Title/position: Special Ed Teacher and SpEd Dept Head

What year did you start working at EH? 1997

Why did you choose to join Eastern Hancock? I graduated from EH and wanted my children to have the same opportunity as my husband and I.  I wanted to teach at the same school my children attend(ed).

Why have you stayed here? We are a family.  We support one another, lift each other up and rely on one another. Every voice is heard at EH, and every student and staff counts.

Describe your role at EH? I teach Middle School special education. I work to ensure my students receive an education that benefits them and one that builds upon the strengths of each of my students. I work with staff and parents to see that individual learning needs are met and that educational gains are maximized.

What's the best part of your day working at Eastern Hancock? The best part of my day is being in the classroom, teaching, interacting with, and supporting my students.

What do you spend your time doing when you're not at work? I spend time with my daughters and husband. I also do a lot of volunteer work when I’m not doing paperwork for school!  I love to read!

What makes you have #EHRoyalPride? I see the love and support each student at EH receives.  Not every school has staff who knows each child’s name. I love watching the interactions and mutual respect between staff and students.

What else would you like to share about yourself, working at EH or our EH community? I cannot imagine working for another school corporation. We are very blessed with our EH family and community!
